I bought this dress brand new for my wedding along with another more casual dress (it was a beach wedding). I was torn because this one was more flattering on me, but the other was crinkly and more beachy. It took me 4 months to decide (right up until the day before I packed for the wedding!). I ended up going with the more casual dress, so never wore this one, and ran off to my honeymoon and never got around to returning this one. While trying to decide, I tried this dress on probably 3-4 times. Other than that, it has not been worn. The tag is still on it. It could stand to be pressed because it has been in a garment bag, but other than that, is in pristine condition.
It's a beautiful dress. Comfortable too. It feels much less cumbersome/heavy as a lot of the dresses I tried on. The fabric is light and silky and falls really nicely. The bodice and the folds that come down from it make it very slimming/flattering. There is some tulle layered beneath the skirt to fill it out. The bodice has some lovely beadwork detail as well.
As note, the label size is 12. I am a size 6. You can see in the photos that I had to pull the corset all the way tight to have it fit. So if I had chosen it, I would have had the bodice altered. But I think for someone size 8 - 12, that this dress would work possibly with no alterations to the bodice because the corset style lets you adjust the corset to get a snug fit. It also has a privacy panel.
I am 5' 4" and tried it on with high heels. I probably would have taken the length in a tad had I gone wit it because I ended wearing flip flops that only gave me maybe an inch on my height. :-)
