Very much like the groom, I didn't know at first glance that this dress would be The One. I thought I'd find me a big billowing ballgown, which in retrospect would have been totally wrong for my petite body type, but at the consultant's recommendation I tried this dress on and it stole my heart (again, the story of finding the groom was very similar). So this dress has a deep sweetheart neckline, straps that can be spread and worn like cap sleeves if you fancy, and a stately column/sheath silhouette. A smoothing bustier underneath made the fit look cleaner on the top than without. I tried it with a volumizing slip/petticoat, but I preferred to let the skirt fall naturally. My size in street clothes was women's 2 or juniors 3, and in this dress the size 0 fit me like a glove, but I decided to give myself a tiny bit of breathing room and get the 2. I've heard other brides complain of their dresses wearing hot and/or heavy, but I experienced neither discomfort to any great degree in this gown, which I wore on my rainy December wedding day in Arizona. The outer chiffon layers move very gracefully, and the liner feels pleasant on the skin. On the whole, it is a little "different", a little offbeat, but very elegant.
